HITT @ Underworld Camden 25.09.09

Because of the tiny crowd Hitt was able, and made sure to, pay attention to EVERYONE at the show~ At one point he took my sunglasses off me and put them on to sing a song in!! He got us all to chant a lot, kept coming up to everyone in the audience and took time out to read some English to us he had written down and then try and talked to us with the help of someone who could speak Japanese in the crowd. Even though he comes across as very confident, arrogant perhaps, he didn’t seem this way in London! He was so friendly to us all and even got embarrassed when he almost fell off his stool and at the silly attempts to communicate with us<3

The wait didn’t seem that long but gave us all enough time to take awe of the stage. On it stood a bass guitar, a keyboard and 2 microphone stands. We were all wondering if there would be anyone on stage with Hitt or if it would be just him alone, but as there was a bass and we all assumed he would be accompanied (this was helped by the Japanese man with long hair we had seen loitering with the French girl that was helping with the tour).
He started off with just an intro track, getting all us to chant and then went into the first song of the evening; the title track off his album! This was a great start to promote the album and himself as everyone knew this track and the energy was still high despite the lack of people. Because of the pretty much empty room we all had plenty of space to dance around as we pleased which made Hitt laugh often through the show: at one point he climbed off the stage and danced with us all on the dance floor!

He played a mix of upbeat songs and more melodic, ballad type songs. One song was played completely on his bass guitar, others were backing tracks that he sang over and others included him playing his keyboard. He told us a little joke about disney that they have in japan and played a disney song for us!

After the show we were told there would be a signing so we all loitered around a table, and not 10 minutes later Hitt appeared, waving to me as he walked past, then said hello to everyone else in the line and sat behind the table ready to sign everyone’s CDs, tickets and such else. We were also allowed to have a photo with him~ So after I had my ticket signed I also got a photo! I also came away with the only copy of the set list he wrote, a page of lyrics and a minnie mouse sticker ;D Alannah stole the mickey and minnie, keeping mickey for herself~~
