D – 19th May ’11 – Underworld

Written By – Syryn

The 19th of May saw Jrockers D gracing our shores with their first ever UK gig as part of the Path of The Rose Tour. Fans were dressed for the occasion varying from Cosplay to stunning elegant outfits to the more unique side of fashions. D stunned the crowd, first visually and then with their raw musical prowess. A truly intimate yet energetic gig was had by all. Although the stage had it’s size restrictions full credit must be given to D’s performance because they didn’t show signs of struggling once, during each moment of the show they were beautifully styled and dressed living up to what is seen in PV’s with ease. In fact it seemed they had even more energy then usual as Hide-zou and Tsunehito bounced around and danced together while expertly playing songs that drove fans wild. The music was fast paced and the crowd even faster, Asagi especially mesmerised the crowd into moving with him, chanting excitedly and cheering wildly after every song. The crowd, although a little on the small side did still give there all to the band and in return the band truly did give their all back. A lot of fans were able to touch hands and some times even legs and chests of their favourite members as they moved gracefully around the stage, teasing and getting very up close and personal. The fans showed they admired D and D showed they appreciated their enthusiastic fans, encouraging them to cheer louder, if it was even possible!

As Night Ship D was played, Asagi asked every one to get their flags and if they didn’t have flags then to use their beautiful hands. It was appreciated by the fans that the band had gone to such lengths to learn more English to converse with them. Asagi led the way with his own personal flags and whipped the crowd into a frenzy. We even had a little tease of Asagi’s whip as well. It was a very enjoyable show, the companionship between the whole band was apparent as Asagi would often drift towards other members, Ruiza and HIDE-ZOU into placing an arm around them supportively, holding the mic to them so they too could sing full throttle to the crowd. More lay in store as we were treated to a powerful drum solo by HIROKI who was very interactive with the crowd it was evident by his smiles he was so happy to play to the crowd, cheering him on with as much energy as they could. They eventually left only to be chanted back with an encore, Ruiza returning in the tour’s tank top, despite the promise of the song being last song, they still treated the crowd to another before finally retiring only to appear later for a very anticipated signing session. All in all seeing the beauty and energy of D, the charm and enchantment of Asagi as he sang and wooed the crowd, the talent of HIDE-ZOU, Ruiza and Tsunehito as they played with such spirit and of course, HIROKI and his vigorous drum solo, made it a truly unforgettable show.

Here’s hoping that D will return to the UK with an even bigger crowd to perform to next time.
