Although the devils in bedside image is still tops for me (just because I think they wear too much make-up the rest of the time), I have to admit this new image is pretty cool, especially the group shot, I love that photo ^^

Album of the year for sure. I don't see this getting beat. It's utterly fantastic.

I'm really liking this album too.

At the moment I think "Heaven" is my favorite track.

I didn't like the majority of the album. I thought most of it lacked. They experimented lots, but I don't really like any of the ideas they tried. Some of it sounds so dated and creatively simplistic to me (the dissonant side of their music especially).

However, Heaven is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard, I love it.

A lot of people have been saying that Bottle, but I've got to disagree.

The simplicity worked in my opinion. The mixture of guitar work is utterly fantastic and really constructs the songs with bridges and form.
It's really nice to hear an album that's not over the top. It's a change to hear an album that's just so easy to listen to.

Not one song sounds the same. With most other Japanese bands albums these days, I find it very hard to pick out massive differences. With this, it's just so fresh. Dated, but still fresh.
I don't know, I love how alternative it is.

The track list really builds up the album too. With tracks like 'Harms', 'Lithium' and 'Reminisce', the album is almost separated into chapters. I haven't really seen that done in the way this has created the feel to the album.

I'll admit that I feel the album starts of strong, especially in the first 7 songs, but then lacks anything bold towards the end.

It's all I've been listening to recently. (I have never even been that big of a 9GOATS fan)

But that's just me. <3

I defiantly picked up the chapters feel for the album as well. I think Ryo has definatley put a lot of thought into how this album flows.

But for me, other than the Tanatos prelude, and the second chapter (Heaven, 宛名のない手紙 & 優しさの意味), I don't like any of the other tracks. When I said simplistic, I didn't mean how the music is textured, because I am a massive fan of 'less is more' (and it that sense I still find some of their music to have too much VK gloss on it, which stopped me getting into some songs like Reminisce and 願い).

I meant more the creative input and ideas. Maybe novice would be a better word. Songs like HURTS sound like the -SE- of Speeddisk's newest and most forgettable rookie band to me.

Sometimes I wonder if it's just because my tastes have changed or something, but I don't think it's entirely that because I still enjoy heavy music. I've certainly become more picky, since 2009 the only heavy releases I've liked have been lynch's last album and Dir en grey's last single. Their heavy attempts just seem so devoid of emotion to me. Some of their slower songs are becoming so over the top- 願い/negai being the biggest example.

I guess I am just wanting them to be this sort of post-rock shoe-gazey band like what was hinted in the beginning on devils in bedside, but it's really not the path they've chosen.

Ive never been a huge 9GBO fan other than I think sink is one of the greatest ambient songs ever >_< Perhaps next to Fragrance by Gackt. It makes me so sleepy so easily I love it.
I thought 'Tanatos' was pretty impressive though, perhaps not what I was expecting from listening to 'Devils In bedside' either. I love layered music, probly why Im into things like synth metal but I agree with Bottle, at points the album sounds... tooo layered. Id like to see how theyd pull of playing some of those songs live without major backing.

But anyway, got to give it to them, its overall a good album. I think perhaps by the end of the year their will be a better abum release though

DDD Just have to wait and see who it will be.

Aaa, Tanatos is great! I love it! 9goats black out make an amazing music. Lithium caught my attention first. Interesting instrumental. Heaven is my favorite, amazing ballad, and Reminisce is also pretty good.

I have to say Sink was the song that attracted me to 9GBO. Its so mesmerising and amazing *O*
